The ability to create a digital story is a skill that nonprofits must have to survive. Fundraising and advocacy both depend on convincing a supporter to take action. Compelling storytelling is the key. TechSoup is committed to supporting nonprofits in telling their own stories and has been running Storymakers campaigns for the last seven years.
Storymakers 2017 will launch on September 5, 2017, and run through October 31, 2017. TechSoup will award over $10,000 in cash prizes to the top community and expertly judged stories on November 15, 2017.You can read more about TechSoup’s Storymakers 2017 here
Sarah Schweiger, graphic and web designer and Adobe Usergroup organizer from Tampa, will be our visiting expert and teach us via an online conference about how to use Adobe Spark, a free storytelling tool.
As Adobe says on its Spark website: “Communicate with impact! Create impactful social graphics, web stories and animated videos with Spark’s free graphic design app.”
Sarah Schweiger works as graphics and web designer at Architects Design Group in Winterpark, Florida. She successfully manages & designs all the creative department’s materials including proposal development, marketing initiatives, email / social media campaigns, and worked collaboratively with the marketing team. She also mentors junior staff on color correction, software solutions, best printing practices, and documentation creation.
Sarah enjoys using the Spark pages to show off the pictures of architecture the company. Spark pages are straightforward for a non-graphic designer to edit on the fly. Their non-technical Marketing Director uses Adobe Spark at trade shows. In her spare time, Sarah runs the Local Adobe User Group in Tampa.
