R U a Twit – or, is that a Tweeter, how about a Tweet? – June 2nd Meeting
Two news pieces should make you reconsider your approach to Twitter: On May 19th Google and Twitter accounced that Twitter posts and profiles are now showing up in Google search result pages. Techsoup Global announced the launch of #NPTechChat, a new Global Twitter-Chat for social change activists. The first event will take place May 27th at 1pm EST. You can read all about it via Netsquared blog – Come to our Tech4Good SWFL meeting to learn how to participate and brush up on your organization’s Twitter presence.
Twitter is much more than Tweeting about your lunch. In fact, Twitter is one of the most valuable tools that you can have in your marketing program. Learn about how to more effectively use Twitter and make it work harder for you using the powerful TwitterChats for nonprofits.
What is a TwitterChat and how to make the most of it?
TwitterChats are the best method for catching up with your peers on Twitter, make new connections, and quickly get the newest nonprofit or technology buzz. TwitterChats are events scheduled and conducted mostly for one hour on Twitter, using a specific #hashtag and a topic.
In this session we will show you how you can participate in a Twitter chat to get the maximum benefit. We will also show you how to easily be a Twitterchat facilitator.
We will review current examples of active and regularly scheduled Twitter chats in the field of nonprofit organizations. These include: #fundchat #storymaker2014 and #commbuild
Following the formal presentation we will hold an extensive Q & A session about Twitter for nonprofits. Follow @t4gswfl before, during and after the meeting.
Bring your Twitter question, and your Twitter woes, discuss ways to web your network on Twitter to donors, peers, fellow advocates and free agents.
We invite all local nonprofit organizations to network, learn, test and explore new technologies, exchange ideas, and best practices. #nptech #t4gswfl #501swfl #net2
